Polly Lai is a postdoctoral fellow at the Learning Cognition Lab (LCL) led by Professor Michelene Chi at Arizona State University. Her research interests include embodied cognition based approaches involving the use of computational models and visualizations to help university students learn challenging concepts in nanoscience. She currently works on LCL's Emergence project, where she researches ways to teach emergent science processes in the classroom. Polly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, and has five years work experience with a semiconductor manufacturing company as an instructional designer developing online courses for engineering professional development. She received her PhD and Master of Learning Sciences and Technology from the University of Sydney and is a resident of Australia and Canada.
