Ian W. Douglas, PhD
Ian Douglas joined Arizona State University in August, 2015. He has a highly interdisciplinary background and has taught in ten different countries on three continents working for departments of Psychology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, Industrial Engineering, and Library Science. Douglas has a primary interest in systems design, particularly educational systems design – how we integrate processes, methods, and technology to optimize educational outcomes. He has been involved in online and distance education since 1988 when he worked as a tutor for the British Open University and helped establish the first online degree programs at Florida State University in 1998. He has worked with the US military on standards for learning technology and human performance improvement.
